Your Hoco Hair and Makeup Survival Guide

Here are some quick beauty tips that would make the Queen of Hearts jealous!

Mix and match! Whichever makeup you choose to use, make sure you make the look your own!

It is once again that time of year each high school girl dreads: homecoming. Let’s be honest here, do any of us actually know what we’re doing when it comes to hair and makeup? For the most part, the answer is no. However, here are some simple tips in order to ensure you do your make up and hair to perfection (or as close as possible) and avoid looking “clown like”.

With just a little blush, your rosy cheeks will light up the room.

The first look I recommend as a classic option for any girl is a simple look. This look works for almost all hair types and is sure to look good with whatever dress you purchase. Simply curl your hair, then once you’re done grab a decent chunk of hair from one side, and braid it regularly.

Secure the braid with 2-3 bobby-pins. For makeup to accompany this look, I recommend liquid foundation (matching your skin tone) with minor blush, along with mascara and eyeliner (optional of course).
The second look I believe is cute for any girl for homecoming is a simple up-do with a little extra makeup than the previous look. Now, when I say simple, I truly mean it. Using the steps from the last look with an elastic hair tie (preferably matching your hair color) put your hair in a high pony tail. This look gives a more professional and sophisticated look with half the effort (which is always a plus).

Thumbs up for the up-do!

As far as makeup goes, use liquid foundation, blush, and a powder foundation to make it look more finished. For your eyes, you can use mascara and/or eyeliner and a light sparkly pink or nude color eye shadow. For a more finished look, add lipstick or lip-gloss. (Use whatever color you wish. Make the look your own!).
I hope with these simple looks, getting ready for homecoming should be a breeze for you Lady Bears. Remember, hair and makeup should only enhance your natural beauty, not cover it up. So, do makeup as minimal or maximum as you feel you want, this is YOUR homecoming look!

Hopefully these tips will leave you with all smiles just like they did for Amanda Sievert (12)!
